städtebauliche situation
an der kreuzung garnison– und derfflingerstraße entsteht das neue zahngesundheitszentrum der ögk als langgestreckter riegel, der städtebaulich die bebauungskante an der garnisonstraße aufnimmt und maßstäblich zu den angrenzenden gebäuden hin vermittelt.
der gebäudekomplex der neuen zahnmedizin markiert den zugang zum gesundheitsviertel mit kepler universitätsklinikum und unfallkrankenhaus weshalb er besondere bedeutung für die architektonische gestaltung und die städtebauliche strukturierung des gesamtgebietes hat. die massierung der baumassen an der ecke ist die logische reaktion auf die exponierte städtebauliche situation, während die abtreppung entlang der garnisonstraße zur anschließenden bebauung überleitet.
architektonisches konzept
das neue zahngesundheitszentrum erscheint als ruhige, unaufgeregte großform worin dessen besondere stärke liegt. der abgestufte baukörper mit den grünterrassen und die leichte, vorhangartige fassade geben dem gebäude jedoch seine eigene unverkennbare identität.
die eingangszone ist architektonisch klar ausformuliert und durch die ecklage von allen seiten gut sichtbar und erkennbar. die kernfunktionen des zahngesundheitszentrum mit den ordinationen und eingriffsräumen liegen auf kurzem weg vom eingang her erreichbar in den ersten 3 geschossen. an der breiten mittelzone liegen beidseits die odinationen mit den zugeordneten wartebereichen. der großzügige räumliche zusammenhang wird über die breite stiegenkaskade sowie offene innenatrien hergestellt.
als ergebnis der gebäudestruktur zeigt sich eine gute orientierungsqualität für alle benutzerinnen, welche dadurch unterstützt und verstärkt wird, dass gänge und öffentliche bereiche ausblicke nach aussen bieten. durch die natürliche belichtung und belüftung aller erschließungs- und wartezonen wird eine optimale qualität für patientinnen und mitarbeiterinnen realisiert.
das gebäude ist so konzipiert, dass die kundenströme in den ebenen nach oben hin abnehmen.über den öffentlichen ordinationsebenen liegen die räumlichkeiten der zahntechnik zusammengefasst in einer ebene. in den beiden obersten geschossen finden die verwaltungs- und besprechungsräume platz. die anlieferungen und entsorgungen erfolgen über eine gedeckte anlieferzone an der rückseite des gebäudes.
die neue zahnmedizin zeigt mit den mitteln der architektur die kompetenz und qualität der medizinischen versorgung auf.
medizintechnische funktionale lösung
das projekt wird durch zwei zugänge erschlossen: der haupteingang dient den personenströmen vorrangig aus dem öffentlichen verkehr, der östliche zugang mit unmittelbarer anbindung an den pkw parkplatz, steht auch patienten zur verfügung. die schnittstelle zwischen den beiden zugängen bildet die zentrale halle mit der anmeldung und ihrer markanten stiegenkaskade, die aufgang zu den ordinationen in der obergeschossen ist. die anordnung der einzelnen behandlungsgruppen wurde nach dem prinzip des ansteigenden hygienebedarfs sowie dem grad der patientenversorgungsintensität und der synergie zwischen den behandlungsgruppen ausgelegt.
um auch die sterilgutversorgung in den ordinationen optimal zu gewährleisten, wurde die zentralsterilisation entsprechend dem hygiene-funktionalen ablauf im 3.obergeschoss situiert. über einen eigenen aufzug im gebäudekern können die ordinationen in den darunterliegenden ebenen auf kurzem weg versorgt werden. im internen bereich des ersten obergeschoß, sind die personalumkleiden untergebracht. um ein grünes außenatrium sind dort die sozial- und waschräume gruppiert.
freiraum – grünraum
durch die aufnahme der städtebaulichen kante der nachbargebäude rückt das zahngesundheitszentrum von der garnisonstraße ab. durch diese aufweitung des straßenraumes entsteht eine vorzone über die der der hauptzugang ins gebäude erfolgt. das bestehende straßenbegleitgrün wird bis zum eingangsbereich fortgeführt.
durch die abtreppung des baukörpers können vielen geschoßen attraktive freiflächen in form von dachgärten zugeordnet werden. diese mit bäumen bewachsenen terrassen sind wertvolle erholungs- und pausenflächen für patientinnen und mitarbeiterinnen.
fassaden
das fassadensystem besteht aus fensterbändern und einer vorgesetzten filterschicht aus vertikalen metalllamellen. diese schichtung verleiht den fassaden plastizität und gibt dem gebäude ein homogenes und elegantes erscheinungsbild. gleich einem vorhang verhüllen die feine strukturierten metallelemente das gebäude – geben durchblicke frei und sorgen gleichzeitig für diskretion. die silbrig-weiße farbgebung stellt die assoziation zu frische und hygiene im inneren her.
in funktionaler hinsicht dienen die vertikalen lamellen als sonnenschutz, der durch montage von senkechtmarkisen im fassadenzwischenraum noch weiter verbessert werden kann.
städtebauliche kante
der neubau rückt zurück auf die bauflucht der bestehenden gebäude an der garnisonstraße. damit gelingt eine städtebauliche reparatur und aufwertung des straßenraumes. eine sonderstellung des zahngesundheitszentrum wird vermieden.
grüne dächer
auf den abgetreppten baukörper werden in jedem geschoß dachgärten als pausen- und erholungsflächen angeboten.
urban situation
at the intersection of garrisonstrasse and derfflingerstrasse, the new dental health center of the ögk is being built as an elongated block, which takes up the development edge on garrisonstrasse in terms of urban development and conveys the scale to the adjacent buildings.
the building complex of the new dentistry marks the entrance to the health district with the kepler university hospital and accident hospital, which is why it is of particular importance for the architectural design and the urban structuring of the entire area. the massing of the building masses at the corner is the logical reaction to the exposed urban development situation, while the stairs along garrison street lead to the subsequent development.
architectural concept
the new dental health center appears as a calm, unexcited large form which is its particular strength. however, the tiered structure with the green terraces and the light, curtain-like façade give the building its own unmistakable identity.
the entrance zone is architecturally clearly formulated and easily visible and recognizable from all sides due to its corner location. the core functions of the dental health center with the surgeries and operating rooms are located on the first 3 floors, easily accessible from the entrance. the ordinations with the assigned waiting areas are on both sides of the wide middle zone. the spacious spatial context is created by the wide cascade of stairs and the open interior atriums.
the result of the building structure is a good orientation quality for all users, which is supported and reinforced by the fact that corridors and public areas offer views to the outside. the natural lighting and ventilation of all access and waiting areas ensures optimal quality for patients and employees.
the building is designed in such a way that the flow of customers decreases as you go up the levels. the rooms for dental technology are grouped together in one level above the public ordination levels. the administration and meeting rooms are located on the top two floors. Deliveries and disposals are made via a covered delivery zone at the back of the building.
the new dentistry uses the means of architecture to show the competence and quality of medical care.
medical-technical functional solution
the project is accessed via two entrances: the main entrance serves the flow of people primarily from public transport, the eastern entrance with a direct connection to the car park is also available to patients. the interface between the two entrances is formed by the central hall with the registration and its striking cascade of stairs, which is the entrance to the ordinations on the upper floor. the arrangement of the individual treatment groups was designed according to the principle of increasing hygiene requirements as well as the degree of patient care intensity and the synergy between the treatment groups.
in order to also optimally guarantee the supply of sterile goods in the surgeries, the central sterilization department was located on the 3rd floor in accordance with the hygiene-functional process. the ordinations on the levels below can be supplied quickly and easily via a dedicated elevator in the core of the building. the staff changing rooms are housed in the internal area of the first floor. the social and washrooms are grouped around a green outdoor atrium.
free space – green space
by taking up the urban edge of the neighboring buildings, the dental health center moves away from garrison street. this widening of the street space creates a front zone through which the main access to the building takes place. the existing roadside greenery will be continued up to the entrance area.
Due to the stepping of the structure, many floors can be allocated attractive open spaces in the form of roof gardens. These tree-covered terraces are valuable areas for patients and staff to relax and take breaks.
facades
the façade system consists of ribbon windows and a filter layer in front made of vertical metal slats. this layering gives the facades plasticity and gives the building a homogeneous and elegant appearance. the finely structured metal elements envelop the building like a curtain – allowing views and ensuring discretion at the same time. the silvery-white coloring creates an association with freshness and hygiene on the inside.
From a functional point of view, the vertical slats serve as sun protection, which can be further improved by installing vertical awnings in the space between the facades.
urban edge
the new building moves back into line with the existing buildings on garrison street. with this, an urban repair and upgrading of the street space succeeds. a special position of the dental health center is avoided.
green roofs
on the stepped structure, roof gardens are offered on each floor as break and recreation areas.
